Newer page from Sea of Kansas. I'm still working on this very long and exhausting series...but this project will be worth it once its completed. I'm anticipating this to eventually reach at least 400 pages. Heres a link to the webcomic.

The Venus

Beginning sketch for a large scale painting. I'm directly referencing Titan's "Venus of Urbino". The 16th Century Painting Titan rendered has been a source of inspiration to me since I was a little boy looking at Gardner's Art Through The Ages; a massive tome that was in my Parents' library. I'd spend hours looking through this book before I even knew how to read.

The Venus image really stood out to me and inspired me to realistically draw people; this is a dream that I have finally realized and now I am paying homage to my past.

Adoration

Adoration
I chose to dedicate this painting to the adoration we pay to our electronic devices. In the 21st Century there has developed an entirely new digital culture with no center or specific gain; an amalgamation of assorted information for the consumption of anyone, anywhere at any time.

Long Painting Session

Did a three hour-long oil painting of my friend Ariel today. It is the first of more sessions to come. I have never done a painting like this from life before making the process is exciting and new. I am planning on taking this to a surreal finish.

FMLY Fest 2012

Had a good show with Centaur at the LA Art Share this weekend! I did a live neon painting that ended up turning into an interactive community painting. The Centaur "Neon Room" turned out really well and was very popular with festival patrons.
